This drake Mandarin duck has been quite a regular tick for me, as he is often found on the castle park boating lake in Colchester.

A cold easterly wind was blowing this morning, so i decided to venture inland and visit the Maldon gravel pits. Where these two Drake Smew's & accompanying female Red Head had decided, to be my subject for the day.
