Im no weedy Pochard.














This drake Red crested Pochard was working hard,Puffing out his breast and offering glumps of weed, when trying to impress his lady friend at Abberton today.

Ploughing throw the gulls.


Spent some time watching a large group of gulls following a tractor as it ploughed one of my local fields. And was soon rewarded with 4 mediterrean gulls, one had rings on its legs and the history of this bird, is in the comment section for you to read.

Sunny Siskin.


Abberton has been a good place to see Siskin this year. And they have been regularly found just outside the Essex Wildlife Trust visitor centre.

Windy ringed plover.


Being on the layer breton causeway Abberton, with poor light and in windy conditions, isn't ideal weather to photograph in. This Little ringed Plover was the highlight of the day for me and my first for this years list.

photographic meadow Pipit.




Went out on this lovely spring day, with the hope of some early migrants arriving on my local patch. Nothing exciting was noted, but this meadow pipit seamed to be following me along obviously wanting to be star for the day.

Creepy Woods.





Spent most of the morning trying to find the elusive Lesser spotted woodpecker at Shut heath wood, but with no luck. So i decided to Spend a while photographing this treecreeper instead.

Spot the difference.




















Not often seen in Essex, but these two whooper swans were mixed in with a group of mute swans, on a field near the village of Tolleshunt Major.
