I literally took the plunge and waded across to the point at cudmore grove today. It's been a few years since I've seen the Snow buntings on the island. So i decided that by being cut of by the tide, i would have no threat of being disturbed by the dog walkers, And would be able to photograph the Buntings in total isolation. Here is the results.
Hi Richard
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog by following a link from Dougal's Mersea Wildlife blog, and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality of your pictures, especially considering the high compression needed for the web. I would be very interested to learn about the equipment you use for your bird photography. I have a Canon EOS 400D DSLR and am cogitating about indulging myself with a 400 or 500mm telephoto for bird photography (my current gear is principally used for macro shots of butterflies, moths and dragonflies). My 'scope is a Kowa 823, but the 32x eyepiece does not seem to be able to produce good enough bird images when used with various compact cameras for digiscoping; currently a Canon 720IS is my 'shirt pocket' camera. Any info and opinions would be gratefully received.
I do a lot of birdwatching and as I live near Colchester I am able to come to the island quite frequently. I know Dougal quite well.
Keep up the good work with your blog, I will return to it from time to time.
Regards
Philip Smith
