Spring has Sprung.

This was my first visit to the ranges for the month of April. The summer migrants have started arriving. Whitethroats, Wheatears, Sedge & Reed Warblers to name but a few were seen and heard during my walk. But my favorites of the day was The Cuckoo and Little-Ringed Plover. And how pleasing to see some Avocets.

Took a stroll round Hythe Lagoons yesterday hoping to locate and photograph a Grasshopper Warbler that had been report. But i dipped out on the warbler, so decided that i would make the four Avocet my subject for the day.

Black and White !!!

Such a gloomy start to the day was soon brightened up with the sight of these Avocets at Abberton. And with such contrasting weather decided that black and white was the way back today this particular picture reminds me of an early birdwatchers reference book. Also the black tailed godwit in flight was also very pleasing.

These Elegant birds were successful rearing two young this year.
