Concealing Cetti's

It took a while but i finally found this Cetti's warbler in the thick vegetation. the birds location was given away by the load explosive song that it produce's.

Still watching over Essex.

Seen by so many as it hunts the roadside's around Essex, and also the emblem of Essex Wildlife Trust. The Kestrel.

Whats good for the Gander is good for me.

With not a lot else, around at Abberton, i decided to Photograph the Red-Breasted geese. The origin of these birds is unknown, but the rings on the legs show that they are properly escapee's from somebodys private collection.

paddling Plover

Whilst walking My dog between the rain showers this morning, this Grey Plover was the only obliging candidate for the camera.

Marvellous Marsh

Spent the day at one of the Essex Wildlife Reserves,and was over-joyed to see this

Marsh tit, which is becoming very scare's in the county. Although not the best of

photo's, it's still a very pleasing find.

Larking around.

A walk along the East Mersea beach produced this Skylark searching for food.

Old farthing.

one of the u.k's smallest birds, and also shown on the back of the old farthing coin the Wren.

Chatting stones.

By knocking two stones together, i tricked this Stonechat into getting closer making him believe there was another chat in the vicinity.

Throwing a Warbler

I was close to giving up, when trying to capture this Sedge Warbler on camera, but as the saying goes. patience is a virtue.

Serving Spoonbill.

How pleased i was that this Spoonbill at Abberton Reservoir, was so obliging for the camera 12/10/08.

Striking Shrikes!!!!!

These shrikes always remind me of Highwayman, waiting to pounce on there next unexpecting victim.

Buzzing with colour

Migration Was well underway in Turkey and the sky, trees & wire's around my apartment were alive with this most colourful bird.

A Royal Hunter

Its always pleasing to be able to photograph such a handsome Angler, when on the island or in fethiye.

Little or Ringed

Not the best of Photo's but you can see the eye ring on the little ringed plover (top). Both pictures again are from the island

The dainty Dunlin were busy feeding along the beach sure sign Autumn is on its way.
