Dull Reflection.

The still conditions helped to cast some good reflections. But being overcast made getting a glint in the eye impossible. But still another wader for the list.

Dry weather Falcon.

This Brown Falcon was resting on the dry weather road sign whilst searching for his lunch. Photo was taken at Werribee Treatment Plant, Melbourne.

Sandpipers at roost.

 Another lifer for me and a great addition to my Sandpiper list was these Sharp-tailed Sandpipers pictured here roosting at high tide.

Old Crow.

Within a few minutes of entering Werribee Treatment Plant. I found a kite sitting on the Solar panel. A Couple of snap shots and he took to the air. But to my surprise on the fence post along the track was a pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. All was going well as i crept closer trying not to disturb them and also trying to cut out the heat haze. Then a all of a sudden a local Crow decided to upset them and they were gone.

Fronted Favourite.

Another first for me life list was this Black-Fronted Dotterel taken at Werribee treatment plant. And it is now on my list as one of my favourite waders.

First new bird for me on my visit to the Briars was this Honeyeater. He seamed rather surprised to see a camera and was very curious especially with the shutter noise.

Briars Robin.

Made a visit to the Briars Homestead in Mt Martha Melbourne. And spent some time watching this cute Yellow Robin.

Cracking Crake.

This Baillon's Crake was a cracking find at Werribee Water Treatment Plant, Melbourne.

Wish Upon a Rainbow.

After flying 10500 miles my wish came true i finally connected with a few Rainbow Bee-Eaters again at You yangs. Thanks to Paul @ http://melbournebirding.com/

You Yangs & Me.

  

Finally got round to posting some pictures on my blog. These were taken last year whilst in Australia on a day out with Melbourne bird guide Paul Hackett. And what a great day it was. Being i only had one day for birding due to other commitments this was a must trip for me  Werribee and You yangs Fantastic. A total off 102 species was seen on the day. Lunchtime Lifers.

We decided to take lunch at a waterhole that Modou Colley knew. The midday sun was blazing so i found a shaded spot and opened my tin off sardines and placed them in the fresh baked Loaf of bread i had bought at the previous village market. Such a simple lunch that turned into one of my most enjoyable lunches i have ever had.

 

The first visitor to get a drink was this Exclamatory Paradise Whydah

 

The very abundant Red-Billed Quelea kept dropping down at the water hole to drink.
 



 

This pair of Cut-Throat Finch was my third bonus sighting when they briefly perched on this dead tree.

 

The Cinnamon Bunting was the bird i really wanted to photograph just a shame i only got a record shot.
